As both the capital city of the Netherlands
and a university city, you would expect nothing
less of Amsterdam than to be a ‘serious’
centre for nightlife. And this is indeed the case;
there are hundreds of cafés and bars, and
numerous discotheques in the city. Including of
course the famous IT.
The IT has been at the centre of a lot of
commotion about drugs, but the club is now up and
running successfully again. Not forgetting Paradiso and the Escape
– both of these are significant to Amsterdam’s
nightlife too.

Without a doubt one of the best
known venues in Amsterdam is the Escape.
Located on Rembrandtplein, this club is renowned
both in the Netherlands and abroad when it comes
to nightclubs. Exclusive parties, muzic, lights,
decor, all the necessary factors for a hip and
trendy club. There are several organisations
involved in Escape, each with their own door
policies. On
certain nights you need to be a member to gain
entry, so it’s worthwhile checking who’s in
charge of the organisation for that evening before
you turn up.
